KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has identified the 34-year-old Kalamazoo man killed a shooting Monday night as Paris Anton Powe.
KDPS was called to a shooting in the 400 block of Egleston Avenue in Kalamazoo around 10:25 p.m. Monday and found one victim dead and another wounded. They say Powe and the other victim were with a third person earlier in the evening at another location and the third person allegedly fired the shots at Powe and the other victim.
The two were found in and near a Chevrolet Trailblazer. The suspect ran off and no description of him has been released.
The victim who survived is 40-years-old, although their name has not been released.
The department says investigators are actively pursuing leads and they urge anyone with information about the shooting incident to contact the KDPS Criminal Investigations Division at (269)337-8139 or provide information anonymously through the Kalamazoo Silent Observer tip line at (269)343-2100.
