KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo nonprofit is urging people to stop the violence after two weekend shootings injured seven people.
Dontray Hemphill is with the Michigan Transformation Collection, which has created a program called Community Violence Interrupter.
He says there are resources available through the MTC, another organization called Bent Not Broken, and more that can help people overcome violent thoughts.
Kalamazoo Public Safety officers have not yet made any arrests in the shootings, but say they were not random and people are not in danger.
