BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – About 120 members of the Michigan Army National Guard’s 1463rd Transportation Company based in Battle Creek are being deployed to the United States southwest border.
Under the direction of U.S. Northern Command and Joint Task Force North, their mission is to assist U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The soldiers are expected to be deployed for up to a year. The 1463rd Transportation Company last deployed to Iraq in 2008.
