KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Former First Lady Michelle Obama stepped back into the campaign spotlight Saturday night as she rallied Kalamazoo voters to support Vice President Kamala Harris for President.
Obama spoke for about 40 minutes at Wings Event Center, which was packed standing-room only. She warned people about what former President Donald Trump would do if he is elected to a second term.
Harris spoke for around 30 minutes, noting that voting has opened throughout Michigan.
Harris and Obama both said Trump has shown a second term will be unhinged. The Vice President thanked Republican former Congressman Fred Upton for coming out publicly to support her in the past week.
Harris was briefly interrupted by pro-Palestinian protestors chanting “No more Gaza war” before security took action.
The rally was the first visit to Kalamazoo County by a Republican Party or Democratic Party presidential nominee to campaign since then-Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton was in Comstock Township in 1992.
