AUDIO: 4th Congressional District candidate Jessica Swartz on federal budget and more

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Jessica Swartz is trying to unseat Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga in the 4th Congressional District.

She says lawmakers need to take action and actually pass a federal budget instead of continuing to just extend the spending plan a few months at a time.

Swartz says it also needs to include higher taxes on the wealthy.

Former Congressman Fred Upton, a Republican, has come out in support of Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris for President.

She believes Upton’s support for Harris could help her campaign.

Swartz adds the district is not being represented well by Congressman Huizenga.

Voters are deciding who will represent the area in Washington DC for the next two years now.
