CLEVELAND – Western Michigan University tight end Blake Bosma has been named the Mid-American Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in WMU’s road win at Buffalo this past Saturday.
Bosma caught six passes for 85 yards and became the first tight end in WMU history to catch three touchdown passes in a single game. His first touchdown tied the game up at 7-7 in the first quarter. His second gave WMU a 21-10 lead and his third pushed the Broncos ahead 28-10. He also caught a key pass on third down deep in WMU’s own end of the field that extended the drive that led to the game-winning touchdown.
This is the second MAC Offensive Player of the Week award the Broncos have earned. Quarterback Hayden Wolff earned the honors after his performance against Bethune Cookman.
Western Michigan is back at home this Saturday, hosting Kent State at 3:30 p.m. It’s Homecoming and the annual WMU Athletics Hall of Fame Game.
