KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Jessica Swartz wants to be your next Congresswoman if you live in the 4th Congressional District in Michigan, currently represented by Republican Bill Huizenga.
Swartz tells WKZO News that she has not run for office before, but felt it was necessary this year.
She says she feels people can lose touch with real issues once they have been in Congress for several years, and thinks that has happened with Huizenga.
Swartz adds Huizenga has also refused to hold any debate with her.
She also says Congress needs to take action to codify the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling that was overturned several years ago.
Swartz says with the fight for abortion rights, she herself has struggled with it.
Voters will decide between her and incumbent Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga November 5. We will have more from WKZO News’ conversation with Swartz later this week.
