KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Voting isn’t what it used to be, especially here in Michigan, and that’s a good thing.
It has never been easier to cast your ballot, and never so many different ways to do it.
Kalamazoo County Clerk Meredith Place says voters also have more time to get it done.
In fact voting is already underway for those who requested their absentee ballots early. It’s best if you want to vote absentee to submit your application over the next few days.
They can either be mailed back or dropped in a drop box.
Place says that isn’t the only alternative to Election Day lines.
Four early polling places will open this weekend and remain open every day from 9 to 5 until November 3rd.
Election day is the 5th, the day everyone else can vote old school.
The new voting options were approved by voters as part of Proposal 2 in November of 2022.
This will be the first November election with all of Michigan’s new voter reforms in place.
