LAWTON, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – After two years of work, the Michigan Department of Transportation says work to rebuild M-40 in Lawton has finished.
Pavement marking is yet to be done along with electrical and restoration work, but those projects will not require any lane closures.
MDOT says the $10.1 million dollar project was delayed several weeks, with most of that due to Amtrak’s project to rebuild the railroad crossing and issues with the village water lines.
M-40 was rebuilt and repaved from South Lagrave Street to 72nd Avenue and all lanes have reopened.
