KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – One man has been shot and killed by Kalamazoo Public Safety officers after he pulled a gun on them Tuesday.
He died at an area hospital, and no officers were hurt.
Public Safety Chief David Boysen described the situation for officers who responded.
He says the officers were responding to a report of a man who was threatening to harm someone else at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park on North Rose Street near West Harkins Court.
They opened fire when he pulled a gun when they approached him and the passenger in the man’s car was not hurt or involved in the threat.
No name has been released.
