LANSING, MI — Tuesday’s high heat led to strong storms across mid-Michigan and those caused power outages that persist into Wednesday morning as cleanup continues. The Lansing Board of Water and Light reports it is working on restoring power to 419 customers in the Lansing region. In all the company reports there are 53 active outages.
Consumers Energy on Wednesday evening reported over 161,000 customers. Many of those were in the Kent, Ionia, Montcalm, Gladwin, Midland, Bay and Clare counties, the company said. It’s not clear how many customers are still without power this morning.
DTW is reporting over 200,000 outages for its customers in SE Michigan, including the Detroit area. Especially hard hit areas include Royal Oak, Berkeley and Farmington Hills.
