ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Jurors in Allegan County have found James Rawson of Lee Township guilty of first-degree murder, assault with intent to murder, and two charges of possession of a firearm during a felony.
Rawson was convicted in the shooting death of Samuel Williams and the shooting of his estranged wife, Char Rawson.
The shootings happened on November 4, 2022 when Allegan Central Dispatch got a 911 call from Char Rawson saying she had been shot several times trying to pick up her children from James Rawson’s home.
She was able to get away and call 911 for help.
Shortly after, her adult son, Samuel Williams, went to James Rawson’s home and was shot several times, dying on the scene.
Rawson will be sentenced August 2nd and faces life in prison without parole.
