BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A Battle Creek man was ordered to serve between 15 and 50 years in prison on Friday in Calhoun County Circuit Court following the shooting death in July of 2022 of 17-year-old Christopher Mark Williams.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports 21-year-old Cameron Anthony James entered a no contest plea on April 30 to a reduced charge of second degree murder. The original charges of open murder and felony firearm were dismissed.
James also received credit for 710 days already served in jail.
Williams was shot at Arbor Pointe Townhomes after he and James had gotten into a social media dispute. He died after being taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.
Williams graduated a month before the shooting from Battle Creek Cental High School.
