KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Bronson Health Foundation says it’s celebrating the successful completion of their Bronson Children’s Hospital campaign, raising more than $4.7 million to support services and mission-critical projects at the children’s hospital.
The total far exceeds the original $3 million dollar goal set back at the start of the children’s hospital campaign in 2022.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity we’ve seen from individuals, families and organizations who have stepped up to support our Children’s Hospital Fund,” says Terry Morrow, president of Bronson Health Foundation. “These gifts help to not only strengthen the fund to sustain ongoing programs and services, but also to address several emerging needs,” adds Morrow.
Bronson Children’s Hospital is the only children’s hospital in southwest Michigan.
Hospital officials say the money will allow them to provide services like art therapy at the bedside and diabetes kits for pediatric patients with a new diagnosis, as well as support larger projects from ventilators for babies in intensive care to an ambulance to transport children to Bronson from outlying hospitals.
Some of the additional projects supported by donations from the community will include:
Child life program
Child advocacy
Genetic testing
Mental health screening resources
Stuffed animals for pediatric surgery
NICU parent liaison
NICU celebrations and support
