Morehart selected as new Calhoun County Commissioner for District Three

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A vacancy on the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners was filled Thursday night. On a 4-2 vote, the Commissioners selected Albert Morehart as the new District 3 representative.

Each of the three candidates spoke to Commissioners but no questions were asked by board members.

Morehart pointed out his background as to why he should be considered.

Tony Iovieno said he would be the youngest Commissioner on the board.

Iovieno expressed his displeasure on his Facebook page afterwards by stating, “The decision was made before anyone walked into that room.”

Morehart takes over for Kathy-Sue Vette who resigned after 14 years of service to the county.
