KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Sunday night’s storm may not be the only threatening weather this week.
Highs are predicted in the 90s into the weekend, and Kalamazoo City Manager Jim Ritzema says cooling stations will be available for those who need to beat the heat during the afternoons.
Ritzema says if the heat index rises above 100-degrees they will be opening hydrants in select locations, and regardless, the city’s watery amenities will also be an option.
He says anyone with a heat emergency who needs information can call 211 which is staffed 24-hours a day.
