CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A 41-year-old Springfield man was killed Thursday night when his vehicle went off the road and struck a tree.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says the crash was reported at about 8:23 p.m. in the 300 block of Avenue A.
The driver was extricated from the vehicle by Springfield Fire Department.
LifeCare Ambulance began life-saving measures on the man whose name has not been released by the Sheriff’s Department.
He was taken to Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek where he later died from his injuries.
The Sheriff’s Department stated in a press release that speed is likely a factor in the crash which is being investigated by the Calhoun County Accident Reconstruction Team.
Deputies were assisted by the Marshall Police Department, the Springfield Fire Department, LifeCare Ambulance and Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch.
