KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The NCAA unveiled the bracket for the 2024 NCAA Baseball Championship on Monday afternoon, with The Western Michigan University baseball team is heading to the Lexington Regional to begin its tournament against No. 2 national seed and regional host Kentucky, after the NCAA unveiled the bracket for the 2024 NCAA Baseball Championship Monday afternoon.
This year marks the 13th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history for WMU and first since 2016.
The Broncos and Wildcats open up action from the Lexington Regional Friday, May 31, at 12:00 p.m. Joining WMU and UK in Lexington are Indiana State and Illinois. The Sycamores and Fighting Illini will match up in the second game Friday at 7:00 p.m. The winner of the Lexington Regional is set to face the winner of the Corvallis Regional in the Super Regionals the following weekend.
Western Michigan punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament Saturday night as it completed a dominant run at the 2024 MAC Tournament with a 10-3 win over Ball State. The victory was the 32nd of the season for the Broncos, their most since 1993, and it secured the second MAC Tournament title in school history.
