LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Two of the three suspects in a forced labor and human trafficking case in Three Rivers will stand trial.
Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office says 40-year-old Ikbahl Machhal and 66-year-old Shila Devi both waived their preliminary examination and their next court date has not been scheduled.
They and 67-year-old Karter Chand forced Machhal’s now 33-year-old wife to work at their liquor store without pay seven-days a week for eight years. Chand has fled the country.
