KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The City of Kalamazoo’s Public Services Department is opening its doors to the public with a series of open houses beginning today.
City officials say the Public Services facilities will be open for a behind-the-scenes look at the work of the department, with facility tours, vehicle and equipment displays, and discussions on water, wastewater, and public works.
Activities are planned at the Stockbridge Public Services Offices, the Kalamazoo Water Reclamation Plant, and the Central Water Pumping Station.
All activities start at 5:30 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. Signage and balloons will guide guests to events at each location. Food and refreshments will be provided.
The open houses include:
Tuesday, May 21, “All Things Water” at 415 East Stockbridge Avenue and 215 East Stockbridge Avenue: Learn about Kalamazoo’s water system and watershed through a show-and-tell-style open house. Trucks and heavy equipment will be on display too.
