BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – No serious injuries were reported on Sunday morning after a car crashed into the Romantix adult entertainment store at 686 West Michigan Avenue in Battle Creek.
Battle Creek Police say they are investigating which took place at 6:56 a.m..
Officers found an eastbound 2021 Hyundai car had left the road and crashed through the west wall of the building. The vehicle was fully stopped inside.
Police found a 33-year-old Battle Creek man, the suspected driver, a short distance away with the help of witnesses. He had minor injuries.
Police took the man into custody on suspicion of impaired driving. He was taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital for testing and medical evaluation.
There was no one else in the car, and no one in the business, at the time of the crash.
The Battle Creek Fire Department determined no utilities were damaged in the crash, and completed the search of the building.
They requested board-up service to secure the building so the car could be removed. LifeCare Ambulance and city Code Compliance also helped at the crash scene.
