KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The 2024 Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon is Sunday.
A few thousand people will run in the full 26.2 mile race along with a half-marathon, a 10K run, a 5K run, a 5K walk, and a PNC Kids’ 1K. Registration closes Sunday at 7 a.m. for everything except the PNC Kids’ 1K, which closes at 10 a.m. Saturday and will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.
The annual event is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon as well.
The full marathon and marathon relay start at 7 a.m., followed by the half-marathon at 8:30 a.m., the 10K at 8:50 a.m., and the 5K walk/run at 9 a.m. The marathon course will be open for six-and-a-half hours.
The annual race is also a economic boom for Kalamazoo and Portage. Sunday’s forecast is for partly sunny skies and a high in the low 70s.
