Former Michigan House Speaker, wife arraigned on embezzlement charges

LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Former state House Speaker Lee Chatfield and his wife, Stephanie, are now charged in an embezzlement scheme.

He faces 13 charges for the alleged misuse of his 501(c)4 fund known as the Peninsula Fund. She is charged with embezzlement from a non-profit organization and conspiracy to commit embezzlement from a non-profit organization.

They were granted personal recognizance bonds after their arraignment yesterday and face years in prison if convicted.
