PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Former Hartford police chief Tressa Beltran faces between two and 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to drug charges yesterday.
Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office says Beltran will be sentenced June 24th and will not be allowed to serve as a police officer in Michigan ever again.
She admitted to stealing hydrocodone pills from the department’s drug disposal box after the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office left two marked bottles in the box and found several of the pills gone when they returned.
Beltran is also being sued by a man who says he gave her pain pills after she threatened to make his life a “living hell” if he refused.
