LANSING, MI — Michigan State Police troopers say they arrested a man accused of trying to steal a new Camaro from a GM storage lot off Davis Highway southwest of Lansing early Thursday morning.
Several other suspects, also trying to steal new Camaros according to police, got away after seeing the state police arrive at the storage lot, which is just south of the GM Delta assembly plant. The Camaros are built at Lansing Grand River Assembly then stored in the lot before being shipped out.
Police say often it’s organized groups of thieves that strike new car lots and steal multiple cars at a time. This incident is similar to one that happened just a few months ago in Lansing.
