LANSING, MI — A mid-Michigan father says his 12-year-old daughter ate multiple marijuana gummies at school thinking they were candy, according to a report from media partner 6 News WLNS in Lansing.
The father, Dennis Patrick, said he was at work on Thursday, March 21, when he got a call from his daughter’s grandmother that he needed to get to the hospital. Turns out the man’s daughter had eaten up to six marijuana gummies, which the girls thought were candy. The edibles were provided to the girl by a classmate.
6 News reports it reached out to Lansing Schools to confirm the incident, but the school district said they were unable to comment. School is currently out for spring break.
Lansing Police said they are not currently investigating and no report was filed by the school district. But 6 News did confirm that an ambulance was called to the school that day for a medical emergency.
