KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Over 100 exhibitors are expected for this weekend’s Home Builders Association of Western Michigan annual Home and Garden Expo at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center.
Organizers says show attendees will find inspiration for home improvement projects in their 60,000 square feet exhibit space, with this year’s theme “Where Ideas Grow!”
There will also be free seminars provided throughout the weekend featuring a wide variety of topics for home and garden, with topics such as “Healthy Home Remodeling,” “Is Solar Right for Me?” “Lavender Through the Seasons,” “Urban Gardening,” and “Cooking with Mushrooms.”

Friday those 65 and over will receive $2 off a door ticket and veterans with military ID enter for free. Friday’s hours are 12 :00-8:00 p.m.
Saturday is Family Fun Day with activities for kids throughout the day including free face painting from 1:00-4:00 p.m., baby farm animals between 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Jingle the Clown from 1:00-6:00 p.m., and Kalamazoo Rabbit Rescue from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Show hours Saturday are 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Sunday hours are 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., with $5 off admission for local educators and first responders.
Home Builders Association of Western Michigan Executive Director Aaron Hovestadt says “Spending the day at Expo is the best way to check out current industry developments, discover the latest ideas, meet face to face with local pros, attend an informational seminar, and save on your next home improvement project.”
Tickets are $10.00 at the door and children 12 and under are free. Tickets purchased in advance online for $8.00 at KalamazooHomeExpo.com.
