KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Western Michigan University men’s basketball team completed a season sweep over Miami Tuesday night with a 77-58 win over the RedHawks at University Arena. It also snapped a six game losing streak for the Broncos.
Four players scored in double-figures for Western Michigan (9-17, 6-7 MAC), led by Seth Hubbard’s 19 points. He was joined in double-digits by B. Artis White (14), Owen Lobsinger (12) and Max Burton (10). Burton’s 10 points established a new career high for the redshirt freshman.
The Broncos enjoyed a 43-36 margin on the glass, with Javonte Brown and Anthony Crump leading the way with seven rebounds apiece. Jefferson De La Cruz Monegro handed out a game-high five assists, while White was right behind him with four.
Tuesday’s game marked the 136th as a Bronco for senior center Titus Wright, setting the new all-time program record for games played.
Western Michigan continues its homestand on Saturday afternoon as it welcomes Buffalo to Kalamazoo. Saturday is a doubleheader at University Arena, with the women’s team set to face Central Michigan at noon, followed by the Bronco men’s team taking on Buffalo at 2:30 p.m..
