(Reuters) – Chrysler-parent Stellantis said on Tuesday it was temporarily laying off another 525 workers in Michigan due to the United Auto Workers decision to strike a company truck plant this week.
The impacted workers are at two stamping plants that provide parts for its Sterling Heights, Michigan assembly plant that builds the RAM 1500, after 6,800 workers went on strike from the plant. The automaker now has 2,045 employees on temporary layoff due to the strike that began on Sept. 15.
