KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo County is expecting record tax revenue from marijuana sales.
The draft budget for the 2024 fiscal year estimates $1.75 million in income from the cannabis excise tax.
The money collected from the tax is split between local municipalities and counties, the School Aid Fund, and the state’s Transportation Fund.
In Kalamazoo County, the dollars are put into the general fund and used to support a variety of services and projects.
