KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Over 200 volunteers from AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP and Milestone Senior Services in will commemorate the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks by joining in patriotic acts of volunteer service as part of the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance, commonly known as 9/11 Day.
AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP is hosting a coat drive to collect clean gently worn or new coats September 11 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at Milestone Senior Services at 918 Jasper St., Kalamazoo. Area residents are invited to make a difference in our local community by donating coats and helping AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP of Kalamazoo reach their goal of collecting 200 coats and $200.
Coats will go to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission and monetary donations will go to One Warm Coat. Volunteers will be outside under the Milestone tent to collect donations on the north side of the building, facing Bronson Hospital.
