CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Calhoun County’s Office for Community Development has announced there will be two free recycling events for Calhoun County residents only during the month of September.
The events will accept residential material only and participants are being asked to stay in their vehicles.
There will be a collection of household hazardous waste on Monday, September 18 from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds in Marshall.
In addition, scrap tires will be collected on Monday, September 25 from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. at the City of Marshall Athletic Fields on West Michigan Avenue. The collection may end early if the trailer is full.
Passenger vehicle tires with or without rims will be accepted; however due to lacing requirements, the number of tires with rims may be limited due to available space in the semi-trailer. Business and farm tires are not accepted.
EGLE Scrap Tire Grant rules limit the number of scrap tires brought by a resident to 10 scrap tires.
More information on the two recycling events can be found at www.calhouncountyrecycling.com.
