BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek Firefighters say an HVAC wall unit was the culprit of a fire at Kellogg Community College that caused around $10,000 dollars in damage early Monday morning, August 14.
Crews responded to the college’s North Avenue Campus around 4:59 a.m. and located smoke in the Severin Building, which was coming from an HVAC unit that was on fire.
The fire was quickly put out and no injuries were reported.
Nearly $10,000 in damages were reported from the fire at the Severin Building, which houses Early Childhood Education Offices and Social Science Offices, according to the Battle Creek Fire Department who also said the building was vacant at the time of the fire.
