KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The nonprofit Kalamazoo Community Foundation is hoping its Blueprint for Peace is successful at stopping gun violence in the area.
Vice President of Initiatives and Public Policy Jennifer Heymoss says the long-term plan is about different root causes like housing, education, access to health and more. She says the program is about taking a public health approach to ending violent behavior.
Since it was put in place in 2021, 103 households have received assistance so far
