A $1500 scholarship was handed out to Portage Northern graduate Minaleah Koffron, who plans to utilize it at MSU in the fall.
Other scholarship awardees also included recent high school graduates Audrey Denhof and Chloe Feather from Byron Center High School.
Chris Andrus of the Mitten Brewing Company and the Mitten Foundation was given the BBB Trust Award, which recognizes the values of Honesty, Integrity, Transparency and Impact.
Andrus’ company, located in Grand Rapids, was founded in 2012, with the Foundation created in 2017.
“Trust isn’t something that you own, you rent it, and rent is due every day,” says Andrus. “I’ve gotta come in and keep renting that trust because my position as the founder and owner of the company doesn’t really grant me anything if I don’t deserve it, if I’m not out there earning it from my team members and my guests.”
The awards were presented on Tuesday, July 25 th , at LMCU Ballpark.
