KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A suspect accused of fatally shooting a Kalamazoo teenager has been charged with murder.
Authorities say 46-year-old Tieshawn Matthews was charged on Tuesday, July 11 with the murder of 17-year-old Corleon Gordon who was shot on Saturday, July 8 on Summit Park Court around 2:30 p.m. Gordon was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
Court documents indicate that Matthews was also charged with felony of a firearm and for carrying a concealed weapon.
Matthews, who became the prime suspect in the case, was detained for questioning and later arrested on Sunday, July 9 and taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail.
He is scheduled to appear back in court on Tuesday, August 1.
