KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The next scheduled meeting for City of Kalamazoo residents to discuss the City-wide Zoning Code and Map Update is being changed to a new location.
The meeting had been scheduled to occur at the Edison Neighborhood Association on Wednesday, May 3, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Dormouse Theatre at 1030 Portage Street.
Parking will be available behind the theatre as well as on Lake Street and in the lot across Portage Street at 1029 Portage Street.
Residents who are interested in attending a meeting but need assistance can call 311 or 269-337-8000 for accommodations.
Property owners of lots included in this zoning update can schedule a conversation with City staff (by phone or on Zoom) to discuss the proposed changes and how they would affect their property.
City staff will be giving an informational presentation on the proposed zoning changes to the City of Kalamazoo Planning Commission at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 4, in the Commission Chambers at Kalamazoo City Hall.
Following next week’s meetings, City staff will review public input and additional research to update the draft Zoning Code and Map; this updated version is expected to be released in late May for a second round of community review and discussion.
The proposed updates are available for review at imaginekalamazoo.com/projects/zoningupdates.
