BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Battle Creek is getting ready to start curbside yard waste pickup on the week of Monday, April 3. Residents can expect the yard waste pickup season to last through Friday, December 8.
Residents should be aware of the following guidelines:
- Curbside yard waste service is only for neighbors inside the Battle Creek city limits.
- Yard waste should be placed at the curb on the regular garbage day.
- Residents must use the large paper bags available for yard waste at most local stores, a cart or container specifically marked for yard waste, or they can rent the brown-lid yard waste cart from Republic – 269-216-8008.
- Residents can place grass clippings, leaves, brush, and sticks inside the bags and carts. Larger branches need to be bundled into four-foot lengths. Each bundle, container, and cart should weigh less than 50 pounds.
The city’s curbside tree debris pickup, after the late-February ice storm, is now complete. Crews have now visited every neighborhood, so any additional yard waste debris should be prepared for Republic’s curbside pickup.
