ALBION, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A man is in custody in connection with the Thursday night shooting death of a woman after the Albion Department of Public Safety said he called Calhoun County Dispatch Authority to report he shot her.
The department says the call was made at about 7:15 p.m. about the shooting which took place in the 500 block of West Broadwell Street.
Public Safety officers responded and found the man waiting for them. He then surrendered to the officers and was taken into custody.
A 50-year-old Albion resident was found deceased in a bedroom from an apparent gunshot wound.
The suspect is a 51-year-old Albion resident and is in custody at the Calhoun County Jail. At this time, investigators do not have any motive for the shooting.
