KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) will host a roundtable discussion to highlight Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s recently released fifth executive budget recommendation that will lower costs, grow our economy and build a brighter future for anyone who wants to call Michigan home.
The event, scheduled for Monday, March 13, is part of a series scheduled across the state to share the governor’s vision with key stakeholders and thought leaders with a focus on how the new budget recommendation will support efforts to accelerate Michigan’s economic momentum and expand opportunity for families, communities and businesses across the state.
It will take place at Southwest Michigan First in the Warner Building- Catalyst Center at 180 East Water Street in Kalamazoo.
The 90-minute conversation will include local Kalamazoo area leaders from government, economic development, workforce, higher education and community investment sectors.
During the event, LEO Director Susan Corbin will highlight department initiatives that align with the governor’s plan, including economic development projects, talent investments, increasing educational attainment and supporting workers.
