BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — As city and Consumers Energy crews work to clean up hundreds of downed trees and power lines down, the City of Battle Creek will provide citywide tree debris pickup, starting next Wednesday, March 1.
The pickup is available for those residing inside City of Battle Creek limits.
Residents must get the debris to the curb, or the edge of the street if there is no curb.
The debris need not be cut up, but should be kept off the sidewalks.
Officials warn not to move tree debris if a power line is down nearby, but to wait for Consumers Energy to repair the wire first.
The pickup is predicted to take several weeks which will require patience from residents.
Regular curbside yard waste pickup inside Battle Creek city limits begins the week of April 10.
