KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Curbside collection of fallen branches and limbs is ongoing now to help city residents clean up after the recent storm.
Residents can place any volume and any sizes of fallen branches, limbs, or debris from trees at the curb for collection. Material should be placed in the curb lawn or at the curb, keeping sidewalks and roadways clear.
Crews will be following the provided schedule, working 12-hour shifts and weekends to complete the cleanup.
City of Kalamazoo crews will be supported by two contractors and a crew assisting from the City of Grand Rapids.
In addition to curbside collection, residents can drop off branches, limbs, and tree debris in the marked location at 322 East Stockbridge Avenue in Kalamazoo.
This collection is to assist Kalamazoo residents with cleaning up after the storm. Only branches, limbs, and tree debris will be collected.
In some areas, this cleanup will overlap with bulk trash collection. Residents should keep bulk trash and tree debris clearly separated to ensure smooth operation of each program.
Residents can call 311 or 269-337-8000 with any questions regarding this collection.
Due to the short notice on this announcement, some pickup times may have already passed according to the schedule. City officials say however for residents to keep putting their martial out and that crews will return to collect it.
