KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – After dealing with windy conditions that knocked out power to thousands in the state Wednesday, the National Weather Service says a new system will bring snow and a wintry mix to much of the area Thursday and Thursday night.
Forecasters say precipitation will arrive in lower Michigan as soon as late Thursday morning, then depart eastward late Thursday night.
Mainly snow is expected north of I-96. To the south in the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek area, periods of snow, sleet, and/or freezing rain are expected Thursday, then a changing over to snow Thursday afternoon and evening. Slippery road conditions will develop in many areas by Thursday evening, with lingering travel-related impacts into Friday morning.
One to two inches of accumulated snow is expected in the Kalamazoo area.
