CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Land Bank Authority announced on Monday it is re-introducing its Neighborhood Mow & Maintenance Program and is seeking applicants to assist with mowing and maintenance projects in Battle Creek and Albion.
Community groups are encouraged to apply for the program to earn funds for neighborhood projects, youth group activities, non-profit events, and other community efforts.
Successful applicants mow and maintain 20 vacant properties from April to October, and earn a total stipend of $3,600.
The program had to be paused in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, more than 400 lots in Battle Creek and Albion were mowed and cared for by nine volunteer groups.
2023 applications are available online at calhounlandbank.org.
