LANSING, MI — Eleven people are running to chair the Michigan Republican Party after disappointing midterm elections when GOP candidates lost races for governor, attorney general, secretary of state, and key congressional seats.
The Michigan GOP released the names Friday evening after the deadline to file paperwork. They include those who have been campaigning for weeks, like 2022 attorney general candidate Matthew DePerno, and last-minute entries like Macomb County GOP Chair Mark Forton.
Thousands of local precinct delegates will elect a new state chair and co-chair during the Republican state convention on February 18th.
