LANSING, MI — Consumers Energy will be moving its central dispatch building in Lansing to a new location south of the capital city.
The utility company has announced it is moving its facility on Willow Street in the city to a 70-acre site on North Canal Road in Dimondale.
The relocation will take place in 2024 and give Consumers Energy a head start on dispatching work crews during an emergency, the company says. The utility says the new location has better access to major highways and so that trucks will not have to pass through residential streets during a response.
