MASON, MI — Another Bissel Pet Foundation Empty the Shelters begins tomorrow at several mid-Michigan shelters. The foundation makes money available to make it possible for local shelters to reduce adoption fees. During the event dog adoptions will be $25 and cat adoption fees set at just $10.
The next event is set for Oct. 1 – 8 and includes the Capital Area Humane Society in Lansing and the Ingham County Animal Control shelter in Mason. Though dates may vary slightly between shelters, according to a press release.
“Empty the Shelters” is the largest funded adoption event in the country, according to the Bissel Pet Foundation. The effort has helped more than 117,716 pets find loving homes, according to the event press release.
