UPDATE TO EARLIER STORY: SOUTH HAVEN MI (WKZO AM/FM) – South Haven police have announced that the two people pulled from Lake Michigan earlier on Monday have died.
A 22 year old male from Novi, MI, and a 21 year old female from Columbus, MI, were reported in the water on South Beach Monday afternoon around 12:30 pm.
Rescue personnel arrived after witnesses had brought the victims out of the Lake and onto the shore.
Efforts to revive the two, who were unresponsive when found, began, and both were taken to Bronson South Haven.
The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Yellow flags were flying at the time of the incident.

SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A dangerous summer in Lake Michigan waters continues.
The South Haven Police Department says two unresponsive people were pulled from the water at South Beach by bystanders around 12:30 p.m. Monday.
South Haven Emergency Services and the police department rendered care on-site when they arrived, and the man and woman were transported to Bronson South Haven Hospital. There is no word on their conditions.
According to the City of South Haven website, a yellow flag is flying at South Beach, meaning there are moderate surf and currents. Swimmers are advised to use caution when entering the water.
