HOLLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Twenty-three small manufacturers around Michigan have been awarded a total of nearly $500,000 to help them adopt Industry 4.0 technologies.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation making the announcement on Wednesday, July 27.
The funds are from the first round of awards as part of the $3 million Industry 4.0 Technology Implementation Grant program.
Nuvar Incorporated of Holland, an industrial company that specializes in product assembly, upholstery and sewing, manufacturing and fabrication is set to receive $25,000.
In April 2022, the Michigan Strategic Fund approved $3 million in awards for six nonprofit organizations to administer the implementation grants statewide.
Officials are predicting that the amount of increased revenue through the use of 4.0 technologies will be about $29.9 million, resulting in an estimated 93 jobs created and 283 jobs retained.
