BATTLE CREEK, MI — Kellogg Co. announced Tuesday this city will no longer be home to the company’s corporate headquarters. With the move Kellogg’s corporate headquarters will relocate from Battle Creek to Chicago, but it will maintain dual headquarters in both cities for its snack company, which makes up about 80% of current sales.
In addition, the maker of legacy cereal brands like Frosted Flakes, Fruit Loops, Corn Flakes, Pops and Rice Krispies will split into three companies focused on cereals, snacks and plant-based foods. In fact, the snack foods division now make up over half of the company’s revenue, according to a press release.
Kellogg Co. is believed to be Battle Creek’s second largest employer. The cereal maker says its three international headquarters in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East will remain in their current locations.
